Libraries keep track of information, that’s something we do well.  Be it books, movies, databases, digital content or programs – if it is affiliated with the library, usage will be tallied.  This blog post by Royal Pingdom provides interesting data on how the Internet grow and was used in 2010.

Interested in how many emails were sent? How about Internet usage by continent?

What about the number of Internet users out there or even the amount of video or photos added online last year?

This blog was started in June 2010, so we’re one of the numbers that makes up this fact: “152 million – The number of blogs on the Internet (as tracked by BlogPulse).”

Enjoy the numbers; as a librarian it’s an interesting list of usage statistics and as a Internet user, it’s a cool tally of how important online interaction has become in our world.

Wonder how 2011 will compare to 2010?
