“Save the libraries”

In News & Notes on February 3, 2011 at 9:44 pm

Times are tough; throughout the country, local and state government budgets are tight and something has to give.  The rallying cry has been shouted for Libraries – save them, save what they mean to our communities and the creative place libraries occupy in our lives.

Phil Bradley has a great save the libraries post on his blog, read it and then check out the retro posters he posted to Flickr in this set.

ALA has a link to many of the “save the library” site and a cool widget is available for users to find their local legislators.

What is special about your library?  Would you care if it were closed?  Libraries mean different things to each person you talk to.  How would you “save the libraries”?
