Calling All Artists!

The library will be hosting the 2nd Annual Student-Faculty-Staff Art Show this February.  We invite all faculty, staff and student artists to submit artwork. Show your talent. If you wish to participate, please complete the following form by January 15, 2016:

2nd Annual Schmid Law Library Art Exhibition, February 2016

•All faculty and staff employed at the UNL College of Law AND current law students are invited to participate.

•Kinds of work to be included: Oil painting, acrylic painting, tempera, watercolors, mixed media, printmaking, photography, drawings, encaustic, gouache, graphic design, book arts, ceramics, sculpture. Please no “craft fair” items or anything where you followed a pattern you did not design yourself. We want to include one-of-a-kind works made from your own original ideas.

•Work should be framed or matted (if media is traditionally framed), and have the necessary wire and hardware so that we can hang it. Please let us know if you have 3D media that will require a pedestal for display.

•The number of artists who sign up to show their work, together with the size of your work, will determine how many works each artist can enter. Start by planning to enter one piece and we will let you know later if you may bring more.

•Each artist will need to bring his/her work to Marcia by January 29th. Put your name and phone number or email on the back of each piece. We will be responsible for hanging the show, making labels, and handling the reception. Artists should provide their own hooks, wires, or other necessary mounting/hanging supplies. Artwork will be available for pickup on March 2nd and 3rd.

•Please prepare a short (one page) artist statement/biography including any information about you and your work that you feel visitors would like to know, plus how to contact you if they want to buy your work. We will include these in the gallery notebook. No prices will be included in the exhibit.
