Did You Print Something?

In Check This Out on September 29, 2014 at 5:23 pm

Large numbers of print jobs lay in printer trays of the printer lab, unwanted and abandoned.

No one cares for these unwanted, but eager to please print jobs. The fate that awaits these poor, neglected sheets of paper is nearly unthinkable for a proud, printed sheet of paper whose only desire in life is to please its originator. These poor unwanted print jobs are summarily recycled and ultimately shredded and fixed with toxic chemicals to be molded into yet another sheet of paper – if they’re lucky.

Please Print Responsibly. Don’t let another print job suffer unnecessarily.

From the Library: Fall Semester Updates

In Read This on August 27, 2014 at 2:24 pm

Welcome back! We are happy to see everyone back in the building, here’s a few updates for our law students.

  • Student WiFi Snafu Returning students: it is likely that you will not have access to the Law College’s wifi network. The university’s wifi administrators unexpectedly deleted many student registrations for the network. If you try to get access and get an error message, you will need to re-register your computer. If you need assistance, please visit the IT office (Room 170).
  • New Student Printer Lab Software Student network printing and printers have changed! The new server software, PaperCut, allows for printing of Google Docs and from ChromeBooks. All students (new and returning) must set up the new printing system to print via the law school printers. If you need assistance, please visit the IT office (Room 170).
  • Where Did That Book Go? The first floor library collection was shifted over summer break, please ask a librarian or library staff if you need help locating a book.
  • Need Technology in Classrooms? Students, if you need technology in a classroom for a special speaker or your own presentation, please complete the AV Request form. We appreciate your request sooner than later! http://law.unl.edu/library/info/avreq/

Westlaw Printing No Longer Free

In Read This on July 18, 2013 at 7:05 pm

As you prepare for the academic year, please note that Westlaw printing is no longer free.

Westlaw notified customers last year that the ability to print for free would change; as of July 2013 this option is gone. Students can still print material from Westlaw at Nebraska Law but will need to print and pay for the material with your law school student printing account.

The former “Westlaw” printers in the printer room are no longer affiliated with Westlaw (they were donated to the law school) as the company is no longer providing free printing.

Printers Moving December 13th

In Check This Out on December 5, 2011 at 3:59 pm

The Union Bank Computer Room (south printer lab) will be renovated into a classroom over the holiday break.

All printers will be moved to room 135 (across the hall from the first floor copiers) on Tuesday, December 13; this will be the new printer home. We hope to accomplish the move with little disruption to your printing. If you experience any printing problems during the move, please see any one of the reference librarians and we will make arrangements to have any documents you need printed.
