From the Library: Fall Semester Updates

In Read This on August 27, 2014 at 2:24 pm

Welcome back! We are happy to see everyone back in the building, here’s a few updates for our law students.

  • Student WiFi Snafu Returning students: it is likely that you will not have access to the Law College’s wifi network. The university’s wifi administrators unexpectedly deleted many student registrations for the network. If you try to get access and get an error message, you will need to re-register your computer. If you need assistance, please visit the IT office (Room 170).
  • New Student Printer Lab Software Student network printing and printers have changed! The new server software, PaperCut, allows for printing of Google Docs and from ChromeBooks. All students (new and returning) must set up the new printing system to print via the law school printers. If you need assistance, please visit the IT office (Room 170).
  • Where Did That Book Go? The first floor library collection was shifted over summer break, please ask a librarian or library staff if you need help locating a book.
  • Need Technology in Classrooms? Students, if you need technology in a classroom for a special speaker or your own presentation, please complete the AV Request form. We appreciate your request sooner than later!

A regular question at Schmid Law Library is, “are you open to the public?” YES! We are a public law library open to anyone who wants to use the law library for legal research.

A helpful guide for Pro Se users is available here from our Schmid Law Library in a Nutshell LibGuide. It includes information on finding legal forms, Reference assistance, links to helpful Nebraska legal websites and a useful FAQ for visitors on parking, public computer use, WiFi and public Westlaw access.

The librarians at Schmid Law Library provide Reference assistance Monday – Friday from 8AM – 5PM, please call a reference librarian at (402) 472-3548 for details on library services. We look forward to assisting with your legal reference and research needs.
